Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Science
About the Course
This exciting course will provide an attractive route for upskilling and career development in the sector. The course is being designed to integrate the invaluable and relevant work experience individuals gain in the work place with underpinning practical and theoretical knowledge and skills. The course will be supported through the National Pharmaceutical Education Centre.
The course and resultant qualification meets the educational and legislative requirements of Article 49 of Directive 2001/83/EC and Article 53 of Directive 2001/82/EC. As a result graduates with a Masters in Pharmaceutical Science and with relevant work experience may apply to their national competent authority for inclusion on their company's manufacturing licence as a “Qualified Person”, (e.g. in Ireland the competent authority is the Irish Medicines Board).

Entry Level
You must have a minimum of an Honours Degree, level 8. The course studied must have been for 4 years of theoretical and practical components in one of the following scientific disciplines medicine, chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry and technology, biology. Other disciplines may also be considered. Additionally you must have completed at least two years relevant work experience. All applicants must have competence in spoken and written English.Course Content / Timetable
The program will be run primarily in distance mode over two academic years with the student required to attend college 2-3 times probably on a Saturday morning throughout the semester. A key aspect of the program is that the program is offered on a modular basis.

Fees & Funding
€6000 per academic year (2 years) (Inclusive of ITT Dublin registration fee and examination fee). There is an additional charge of €1500, payable in year two, for completion of the thesis component. If completing individual modules/ groups of modules the individual module fee is €790 plus the ITT Dublin registration fee of €30 and an examination fee of €15 per module examination (up to a maximum of €70 per academic year).
Please note: Where students fail to complete the thesis component in the available time (2 years), they may be liable to a continuation fee of €1500 for each subsequent academic year leading to completion and graduation from the programme.
