Bachelor of Business in Management

About the Course

This programme prepares the student for a career in general management. Graduates may choose to pursue more specialised study leading to a professional qualification in accountancy, marketing, production or personnel management. They may also progress to the honours bachelor degree in Management Studies. Graduates will have specialised knowledge in the following areas: management accounting, management & organisational behaviour, law, economics, marketing and information technology.

The programme (in academic year 3 particularly) aims to develop critical analysis and reasoning. Graduates should also be able to apply knowledge to case studies and business problems, through innovation, creative thinking and new communication skills.

The programme provides for an exit award – A Higher Certificatein Business Administration – for students who complete year 2 but do not continue to year 3.

Entry Level

If under 23 years applicants must have a grade D3 in a minimum of five subjects in the Leaving Certificate examinations, (this must include Maths and English/Irish) or a FETAC Level 5 qualification or equivalent. Mature students (over 23 years) may be exempted from this requirement and are eligible to apply. All applicants must have competence in spoken and written English. Eligible candidates may be interviewed.

All modules on the Bachelor in Business Studies in Management are examined in common and at the same time as the full-time programme

 

Career Opportunities

The Bachelor of Business in Management prepares participants for management positions within public and private sector organisations. The academic and practical skills that are developed - in finance, human resource management, law, marketing, information technology, operations management and business strategy - can be applied in any organisation and across all industry sectors. Graduates obtain employment in a variety of business sectors, such as healthcare, banking and finance, education and retail.

The programme also provides participants with the knowledge and skills to start their own business or to pursue a career in areas such as teaching and management consultancy.

Fees & Funding

Year 1: €1620 (Inclusive of ITT Dublin registration fee and examination fees)
If completing individual modules/groups of modules, the individual module fee is €130 plus the ITT Dublin registration fee: €30 and an examination fee of €15 per module examination to a maximum of €70 per academic year.

Year 2: €1755 (Inclusive of ITT Dublin registration fee and examination fees)
If completing individual modules/groups of modules, the individual module fee is €140 plus the ITT Dublin registration fee: €30 and an examination fee of €15 per module examination to a maximum of €70 per academic year.

Year 3: €2365 (Inclusive of ITT Dublin registration fee and examination fees)
If completing individual modules/groups of modules, the individual module fee is €190 plus the ITT Dublin registration fee: €30 and an examination fee of €15 per module examination to a maximum of €70 per academic year.
