Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
About the Course
This course prepares students to take CCNA certification examinations. CCNA is a globally recognised professional qualification from Cisco Systems, the world’s largest networking equipment supplier. Cisco professional qualifications are widely regarded as the premium certifications to possess in the networking world.
ITT Dublin is an official Cisco Local Academy and has been certified by Cisco to offer courses of study leading to CCNA certification. All courses are delivered by Cisco Certified instructors in modern labs. ITT Dublin has provided CCNA for a number of years. This course, which has a strong practical focus, is being run jointly by the Department of Computing and the Department of Electronic Engineering using an experienced mix of instructors from both computing and electronic engineering backgrounds. Graduates of this programme may be considered for exemptions for studies on programmes in both of these departments. Graduates may also receive single subject certification in the networking modules of the B Sc in Computing, subject to satisfactory performance.
The CCNA course is delivered in a single academic year over two college semesters. CCNA 1 and 2 will be completed in a 12- week block commencing September 2009 while CCNA 3 and 4 will be completed in a 12-week block commencing February 2010. Class sizes will be in the region of 14 to 16 students and classes will take place from 6pm to 10pm on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Certificates will be awarded for successfully completed CCNA elements (CCNA1-4.)

Career Opportunities
CCNA qualification holders can obtain positions as network designers, administrators and managers. Installation, troubleshooting and network maintenance all form part of a networking technical support brief. Holders of a CCNA qualification work as network engineers/ field technicians and as technical supports for network service providers.Graduate Profiles

Full fees for this course are €3250 (Inclusive of ITT Dublin registration fee and examination fee). Paid in two installments of €1625. Please note, those wishing to take the CCNA exam at the end of the course must pay an additional exam fee directly to the exam centre.
