Achieve your lifelong learning goals
‘ITT Dublin is the destination of choice for those wishing to study part-time. We have the largest proportion of part-time students of any third-level institute in the country’
Each year, hundreds of students just like you take advantage of the learning opportunities available at ITT Dublin to improve their qualifications or to pursue an entirely new career. Like you, they were interested in further education but felt their current situation didn’t allow it.
In our new prospectus, you will see a great range of part-time programmes are available to students who are unable to make a full-time commitment to third-level education. Part-time programmes, taken over a number of semesters, allow students to gain a wide range of recognised qualifications, from minor awards to masters degrees, while staying on top of professional or family commitments.
ITT Dublin has a hard-earned reputation for being accessible, helpful and supportive to students of all backgrounds. Our philosophy is to allow them to choose when to learn and how to learn. One way we are doing this is by extending blended learning – combining on-site and distance learning – to a wide range of programmes.
In a complementary development, the Institutes of Technology as a whole have received funding through the national Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) to develop a common distance-learning platform. When completed, this will give students even greater flexibility in terms of which modules/courses they choose and how and where they study. By September of this year, two of our part-time programmes – the MSc in Science and the Higher Certificate in GMP – will both be available in full distance-learning mode as part of this new system.
But not all of the changes taking place at ITT Dublin are ‘virtual’ in nature. Over the next five years, the campus will undergo a major physical expansion, too, which will see the addition of a dedicated engineering block as well as a new tourism and hospitality facility. The construction of a new purpose-built crèche, meanwhile, begins later this year.
Particularly in the tough economic times we’re currently experiencing, ongoing professional education plays a key role in the health of the economy and getting people back to work. Losing your job in unfortunate but it doesn’t have to spell the end of your professional life. ITT Dublin can provide new skills and training that will make you more attractive to employers or allow you to make the career change you always wanted.
For more information about our part-time programmes, down to a comprehensive description of each module, please explore our website or contact the Lifelong Learning Department on 404-2101.
We look forward to welcoming you to ITT Dublin this autumn.
